Flowers in the Hawthorne District

Every spring my neighborhood

becomes a bouquet.

I live in the moment,

forgetting my worries

and breathing in the fragrances

of roses, lilacs, and flora I can’t name.

My heart opens up like a lotus.

A New Blog At Last

Media-savvy young members of my writers critique group recommended Word Press as a more professional blog site for authors, so here I am.

I’m currently busy revising the book proposal for my travel memoir Every Day is Magical: A Buddhist Pilgrimage in India and Nepal, and writing a fairy tale novel inspired by the European witch-craze. The current working title for the latter is Woodland Castle, but it’s not absolute. Sometimes the first thing publishers change is the title, and I’m open to that.
